VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: GEt Out The Shot LA

Get Out The Shot LA is a volunteer-run collective that seeks to remedy a specific and pernicious harm—there are barriers to vaccine access in the communities that have been hardest hit by COVID-19. Los Angeles is struggling to get vaccines into the people that need them the most. GOTSLA acts with equity as their focus. To do this, they work to secure appointments for VACCINE-QUALIFIED individuals (qualified by age or occupation) who face barriers (such as access to/fluency with technology) getting their appointments.

GOTSLA is seeking additional volunteers to support their efforts in getting folks appointments. They need all volunteers but have a strong need for Spanish speakers. They are actively anti-racist and anti-ableist, and try to understand the structural barriers that exist as the foundation of their approach. They serve those vulnerable, affected and in need. Support ‘People for People’ Mutual Aid Group

From conversations with Black Lives Matters Los Angeles, we have been asked to point you to People for People, a grass-roots, mutual aid group providing food for BLMLA activists, organizers, and elders, especially in Central LA. Give directly via Venmo at @people4peopleLA or via GoFundMe here.

Learn how to support your neighborhood with mutual aid!

In difficult times, we show up for our neighbors. Ground Game LA, one of the groups we are pleased to work with, is helping to create a network of Neighborhood Pods of people across Los Angeles that can keep in touch and support each other during the COVID-19 crisis and beyond. Support hydratela

Have you been looking for a way to help our unhoused neighbors and community events in LA? Look no further than HydrateLA. They are a mutual aid organization geared toward servicing the greater Los Angeles Area. They’re looking for folks who are willing to go grocery shopping, drop supplies around the city, make lunches and support community events. Donations are also greatly appreciated as they are solely community based, peer to peer funded.

Fundraiser: End White Supremacy T-Shirt supporting Black Lives Matter Los Angeles

Members of White People For Black Lives print shirts that say "End White Supremacy" and all money from the shirts (minus the cost of the blank shirt and ink used) is donated directly to Black Lives Matter Los Angeles. Everyone working on the project is a volunteer. Shirts are available in sizes XS to XXL and can be purchased online here.
