SURJ NATIONAL: WHITE BACKLASH: WHY IT HAPPENS AND HOW WE FIGHT BACK

Date & Time: Wednesday, January 13th, 5:00pm - 6:30pm PST
Location: Zoom, register here
Details: As people committed to organizing white communities for racial justice, it’s important that we understand this incident as a part of a long history of white organized backlash to Black-led struggle and victories. By deepening our understanding of these historical patterns we can more strategically build powerful movements to fight back and out-organize the Right. In light of last week’s events, join us for a mass webinar with leading movement scholar-activist, Robin DG Kelley. Dr. Kelley will share about the historical context of white backlash to Black movement victories and what this legacy means today, and we’ll give you ways to plug into SURJ’s work of organizing white communities to undermine white supremacy.
Accessibility: There will be ASL interpretation on the webinar. If it reaches capacity, SURJ will be live-streaming here on the SURJ National Facebook page. They will also share a recording of the call on their Facebook page and via email with anyone who registers.
