Details: HR 40 is part of the Visions for Black Lives Platform and part of the Breathe Act that was offered by the Movement for Black Lives. Reparations is a fight that has been waged since the end of slavery and there are many organization who are pushing for this. We need to show that white folks agree. SURJ needs to take a strong stand for reparations. And this is a step in that process.

Details: Join us in action to lift up and push demands from JusticeLA and coalition partners calling for defunding law enforcement, decarceration, and investment in community-based Alternatives to Incarceration. Everything you need happens right there - context, training, collective action + recruitment, debrief, and next steps. You can also sign up to join our JusticeLA Daily Action List. Three times a week you’ll receive, via text, a 2-5 minute action to uplift and push these demands and campaigns often in the form of an email, a phone call, and/or social media amplification.

LOS ANGELES POLICE COMMISSION MEETING

Details: Show up in solidarity with community organizations like Black Lives Matter Los Angeles and Stop LAPD Spying Coalition to demand accountability from the civilian oversight board charged with holding the cops accountable. Details: Join the WP4BL Action Team for this introduction to a direct action webinar; Protest 101: How to show up as a white anti-racist ally. This 90 minute webinar is for white people who are interested in learning more about best practices for street-based protest that include: showing up with a purpose, maintaining safety, protest roles, your rights, and the best ways we have learned about how to show up in solidarity with Black Lives Matter Los Angeles. Our presentation will be followed by a Q & A.

In difficult times, we show up for our neighbors. Ground Game LA, one of the groups we are pleased to work with, is helping to create a network of Neighborhood Pods of people across Los Angeles that can keep in touch and support each other during the COVID-19 crisis and beyond. Fundraiser: End White Supremacy T-Shirt supporting Black Lives Matter Los Angeles
Members of White People For Black Lives print shirts that say "End White Supremacy" and all money from the shirts (minus the cost of the blank shirt and ink used) is donated directly to Black Lives Matter Los Angeles. Everyone working on the project is a volunteer. Shirts are available in sizes XS to XXL and can be purchased online here.
